Press Releases

From the time that Caleb Winright was three years old, he has wanted to become a race car driver. On July 24, 2003 , Caleb put another notch on the belt of his racing career in pursuing that dream. For the first time in his career Caleb sat behind the wheel of a Big 10 Series Super Truck at the birthplace of NASCAR Stars, Hickory Motor Speedway (HMS), driving the #24 McMurray Racing Chevrolet. Upon arrival at the track, Caleb found a huge surprise as the #17 Tide Truck team driven by Darrell Waltrip was in attendance testing their truck for the upcoming race at Indianapolis Raceway Park . The 17 year-old Winright got some solid racing advice and memories that will last a lifetime from the driver of the #17 Tide Ride.
“I’m thrilled to be able to get back behind the wheel and driving. It has given me the ‘itch’ to go out and compete again and I can’t wait to see what kinds of opportunities will open up for me. The test allowed me to get comfortable behind the wheel of a Super-Truck. My last racing experience was with an open wheel modified in which I won “Rookie of the Year,” but the handling of a modified is very different from that of a full size truck. I want to thank Village Jewelers for helping me to have a very successful session at the track,” Caleb stated afterwards. Village Jewelry has a history of providing the finest jewelry in the area and is located in Kannapolis , North Carolina . They are excited to have helped Caleb in hopes that they found a “diamond” in the rough. Caleb will be gearing up to run 6 Late Model Races and several ASA Racing this season along with testing for Driver Development Programs.
